Slow Rolling

Slow Rolling: Having the winning hand (often a massive hand) and taking a long time to show the hand when asked to declare. Considered bad etiquette.

Alright. So, a little over a week ago, I woke up and decided I was done with Vegas. I finally paid to get my car fixed, and after what would have been a fun last weekend, I was all set to go. I wasn't sure where I was going when one of my friends sent me a text about a job, but I only had my bathroom left to pack. The job would be to help his personal trainer deliver healthy meals to some of the top players for the World Series of Poker. I didn't know what I was getting myself in to, but I thought I'd give it a whirl.

Antonio Esfandiari? Devilfish? Tom Dwan? Sorel Mizzi? I didn't know who these people were, and apparently at the Rio, I was the only one. I will admit that there have been more than a few embarrassing moments just trying to get people their food.

I've worked the last eight days, a total of 16 shifts. I can't seem to catch up on sleep, but I've loved meeting so many people and making new friends, as well as leaving work feeling like I went to the gym. My kidney reminds me every now and then that something still isn't quite right, but the stress of work and the anxiety that comes with walking in to a room full of well over a thousand guys makes it easy to ignore.

The series ends the 13th. When filling orders, the chef is always yelling out, "What's next?! What's next?!! What's next?!!!" --My thoughts exactly.
