Random thoughts for today--
So, Alexis has everyone calling my dad "Darb" (Brad backwards, in case you didn't catch that). It's such a goofy name, but seems to be ... fitting. My humor might be really stupid, but I would rather just say that my dad's really funny. His jokes don't always make sense, but when they do, he nails it. On average, I would guess that he sends me three texts a day that make me laugh out loud. Just yesterday, the old man sent me at least 10 pictures messages of stuff he saw walking around some kind of souvenir shop. Of course the pictures were funny, but I think there was more humor in him knowing he was probably annoying the crap out of me with his messages. GAH! I'm still laughing.

If you want to have the best time golfing, make it you and Darb. Nothing like "playin' marbles" out on the golf course.
That man works so hard. Not only does he work his normal job, he has kept the lawn mowing business going he started 10 years ago, and is now running it by himself. I love mowing lawns, but doing that after a long day of work, week after week, summer after summer, and the kicker--- by myself? Eh.
I love that he can never sit still. It was fun knowing that as soon as he walked in the door from work, he'd be out in the garage fiddling around, fixing something, or running errands. I enjoy tagging along.
The guy is really smart. He can skim through a book and teach you how to do anything based on what he read like *snap*.
I remember in 7th grade and having to replicate a map of part of the Middle East. Being the perfectionist I was, when I spilled brown paint on my blue water and couldn't seem to fix it, I lost it. My parents just told me to go to bed and worry about it the next day. When I woke up the next morning, my dad had gone over my entire project in extra paint and somehow made the brown paint disappear. That's what my dad does.
My car broke down in the Walmart parking lot a few weeks ago, and the guy stayed on the phone with me for hours walking me through checking all my fuses, more troubleshooting and then switching out a brake switch. The wind was howling enough to blow the hood in to my windshield. I have no patience when I'm trying to talk to someone on the phone and it's not clear. As cranky as I was, he stayed calm the entire time. If you know how to deal with me in that state, you deserve a ... very important award.
Whenever life's hard or I need advice I can trust, he's the man I call. My dad's one of my best friends, and I hope he knows how loved he is everyday!
Alesha, good work. If I had more time, I could tell quite a few of my own. Darb is an amazing man. He really is good at pretty much everything he does. He has always been quite a tease, and I think we (his children) have gotten his "jeans" but not really 'cuz they're too long. (I can joke like him) We tease him all the time for his classic phrases. "Chhhhhhhhhhhhhhicago", "Hold 'er", and his #1 phrase, "CLAMP YOUR STARFISH!". Anyway, good post 'leesh.
