A while ago, I was telling Kyle about how when I was little, I accidentally left the top off my ant farm and how mad my parents were when they started finding ants everywhere in our house. The last time we were at Bass Pro Shop, he insisted on buying an ant farm for us and giving me another chance. We both forgot about it though until Kyle presented me with a little "surprise" he found at the gas station after I flew in last night-- A bracelet with a real, huge, dead ant inside the "jewel". Kinda ...fancy!
We put the farm together and then found out it would take 3 to 6 weeks before our ants would get to us, so we decided to skip that part and headed to the desert. We first tried to lure them with chewed, dried apricots, but then we found ourselves an ant hill of sorts and just used sticks. I'm excited to see how these wild little guys do in their new home! I guess that makes us farmers now, huh?
