November

1. Nashville
American Pickers Museum

Andrew Jackson Plantation

Kyle was testing my patience (and probably wishing himself that he could pull my scarf even tighter)

...but how could I stay bugged?

Leiper's Fork- Perfection.

Bluebird Cafe - Four Mile Bar has more talent

Grand Ole Opry - No shows playing there and tickets were sold out at the Ryman. We'll be back.

Kyle loves throwing hats on my head. Hello?! Lice?!

Edley's BBQ - Pretty neat restaurant, pretty decent food, and pretty creative customers

Loveless Cafe - Awesome place and amazing food

We saw this old building off the freeway and had to go check it out.

Why WE Won't Be Moving To Nashville - I was hoping he'd seriously think about it, but seeing this ambulance haul down the road with back doors wide open didn't help my case.

Puckett's - Doesn't matter which one you go to, this place just has a great vibe!

Ryman Auditorium Tour

Titans vs. Bears  - We made it on the big screen!

Tootsie's (Airport) - The real Tootie's was too full of Bears fans the night we went. The guy playing that night at the airport = AMAZING. We requested Mark Chestnutt, Randy Travis, and Paul Overstreet. Killed it every single time!

CMT Country Christmas- It was nice to see a lot of people perform at one show. Lady A, Little Big Town, The Band Perry, Colbie Callait (I'm not sure what she was doing there), John Legend (not sure what he was doing there), Scotty McCreery, Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland, Keith Urban, and DIERKS BENTLEY!!! I can't get enough Dierks. Ever.

Also...

Belle Meade Plantation tour, downtown live music, regretfully watched the CMA Awards in Hooter's down the street from the actual event, Beacon Light Tea Room (incredible biscuits and preserves), Armstrong Pies (we bought 10) from our favorite gas station, B.B. King's, record shops and guitar shops, visited our dream home (Ron and Me'schell's house), Wafflehouse, Cracker Barrel, wandering here, wandering there...

So, it's December 21st and I'm going to try and catch this thing up. The last month and a half has been insane, but I have a lot of exciting things I want to record.

Kyle and I went on our first real movie date. I haven't been to the movie theater in a few years, so I don't know if this is everywhere, but I'm loving the new cush seating. "Lincoln" was good. I wouldn't say I absolutely loved it or that it was a life changer, but it was definitely a 7.5 on a 10 scale. I think I might have loved it more right after I saw it.

So, whatever. A movie date isn't THAT exciting. Do you know what is though? Being an aunt! I decided that since Kyle had to work Thanksgiving that I was going to meet my family in Utah. I kept bugging David to tell his wife to bust the baby out so I didn't have to make a separate trip. My demands were met when I received a phone call at work the morning I was headed up there. Addison was in labor! WOOHOO! I rushed up there after work and saw my precious niece for the first time. I'm getting chills remembering the overwhelming instant love.

I copied this from Addi--
Grace Lauren Scott
7 lbs. 2 oz.
19 inches long
One huge head of hair

She's seriously perfect. PERFECT.

That was such a fun trip. It was good to be able to hang out with my family. Thanksgiving was the best Thanksgiving I've had in a looooooooong time, too. A lot of my extended family (Jody & her family, Larry & the boys, Jenn & her family, Aunt Bobbie, Brandee & her family, my family) all gathered for Thanksgiving. There were a million people in that house, but it was so fun to hang out with everyone. Unless I missed something, huge functions like that with no family drama = THE BEST. The food was amazing, as well. I can't really remember anything else from that trip except singing nursery rhymes in Dairy Queen. Man, I love my family.

It was this weekend away when I started to realize that I had a bit of an acid reflux problem. I couldn't figure out why my throat and ears were hurting, why I was so nauseated, and why randomly I'd have acid in my mouth, but after going to the doctor when I got back, he told me what should have been obvious. Unfortunately, trying different things hasn't really been helping, the symptoms are worse, and over the last few months, I've lost ten pounds. I'd take 20 pounds to get rid of the problem.

People are always commenting on the fact that I'm always sick. I'm aware of that. It seems like all of these issues are stress related. I'm taking suggestions.

Moving on to December...

  1. Our niece is cuter than anyone else's. And your blog makes me happy. Also your stories about how secretive you are with wrapping. Wish you could see how bad I suck at it. OHHHHABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ. (:
