- Paul Overstreet at Nashville Unplugged with Nan (Kyle's sister), John, Kaitlan, Christina, and new friends. Kyle has always loved him and now has me hooked. After the show, Kyle, Nan, and I stayed so Kyle could get his picture taken with him and we followed him to the bar. We didn't get to spend much time with him, but being in his presence was enough to make Kyle's night. (I had to steal pictures off of Facebook for almost all the pictures in this blog. Thank you to you if they are yours.)
- Went and watched the Ironman World Championship. So motivating. I wish the motivation would have lasted longer than a day though as I'm still trying to get back on the gym wagon. It doesn't help when Sarah and I have made it our daily routine to go to Smith's and get pastries for lunch. Who would have thought that Smith's would have the best bakery? Not me.
- Utah trip. Slept in the truck the first night because we were both exhausted from work and couldn't make it 4.5 hours. Pathetic. Kyle doesn't like talking too much in the car and he hates when the music is a little bit loud, so as soon as the sun goes down and I can't read my magazines, I'm so bored I can't keep my eyes open. I offered to drive, but newer trucks are so annoying. If we were in "The Strander" (the truck I used to mow lawns in) and I would have used my headphones, I probably could have lasted as long as the truck lasted, which may or may not have been all night.
The Strander
Kyle and I showered and stayed in the area for the other main reason we went to Utah -- food storage shopping. Definitely blew our budget, but I feel a tiny bit more prepared. We originally were supposed to end up heading towards Salt Lake for our shopping, but found everything we needed in American Fork. Even though I was kind of bummed that we didn't get to go to Perry to visit my cousin and her family, I was happy that I ended up getting to spend more time with my brother and his wife (even though it was in Cabela's for waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long). We went to visit my Aunt Andria and Aunt Shirley after and had no problems crashing early.
Saturday morning, I woke up to Kyle singing "Kiss An Angel Good Morning" and sweet forehead kisses. I feel so lucky sometimes. I don't ever want to take those little moments for granted. Annnnyway, we drove all the way up the canyon past Heber City and found the perfect little fishing hole. I call it perfect because even though there was a ton of pressure/people fishing in the area, I caught this beauty--
(Please ignore Kyle's shoes that make my feet look huge and my fish look tiny.)
The wind was picking up and it was looking like it was going to rain, so we headed for the truck after about 4 hours. When there was a guy in the parking lot making fun of us for letting the weather scare us away, Kyle started talking to him and found out he was actually a guide. He ended up teaching us a few things and inviting us back to the river with him for another 4 hours. We were both super tired on the way home, but when I looked over and saw this,
