Dear Capstone Student,

Welcome to the B 499 Capstone Course. I am looking forward to getting to know you better and am confident we will have a great learning experience together. A few items in preparation for the start of class:

1. The following is the book list you will need to obtain/purchase. (you may already own some of them?) The bookstore was going to get some...if needed.

b. The World is Flat ISBN 0312425074 (paperback)

c. What Management Is ISBN 0-7432-0318-6

There will also be cases and articles you will need to print and or purchase.

2. For the first day of class please read the Introduction and Chapter 1 from the book "What Management Is" and come ready to discuss.

3. As part of the course I am asking you to create your own blog (www.blogspot.com, or www.wordpress.com, etc.) The blog will be used to reflect upon your Capstone Experience. If you already have a blog or a personal website you are free to use them as part of the course.

4. A main part of the course is an external consulting project set up by the Eastern Idaho Entrepreneurial Center. You will be place in small teams and will be given the opportunity to consult for a local business or government agency. More information about these projects will be discussed in class.
